Building a Relationship With a God You Cannot See

Are you a new believer.....or maybe you are still on the fence because you do not fully understand this faith? Perhaps you are wondering how to build a relationship with a heavenly Father you cannot see.
I understand. If I had not been raised in the church, I would probably have had many questions too. It may have been difficult for me to believe in Christ. But I want to share the Gospel with you in a simple way (okay maybe not so simpleš)
Because of the fall of humanity (when Adam and Eve were tempted by satan in the Garden of Eden) sin entered the world. That sin separated us from our Creator\Heavenly Father. No matter how hard we tried to do the right thing, we continued to fall short.
But God, in His love, sovereignty, and compassion, sent His only Son, Jesus Christ.
Jesus came to teach us how to live, reveal the heart of the Father, and become the ultimate sacrifice for our sins....past, present, and future.
Jesus died for the sins of humanity so that we could be reconciled to our Heavenly Father.
But He did not stay dead.
On the third day, Jesus rose again, conquering death. He has all power and authority in heaven, on earth, and under the earth. Scripture tells us that whoever believes in Him will not perish but will have everlasting life.

The truth is that this world is temporary. God promises a new heaven and a new earth for His people. Those who believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ are called to follow Him and live according to the new covenant we have through Him.
Because of Jesus, we are no longer bound by sin. That does not mean we will never make mistakes, but it does mean sin no longer has to rule over us. The Spirit of God lives in us (Yes all of US), giving us strength to resist temptation, grow, and become more like Christ (If we allow Him to lead).
This journey requires faith. Scripture says that without faith, it is impossible to please God. We must believe in the Creator we cannot physically see.....but God makes Himself known to those who sincerely seek Him.
Jesus tells us to ask, and it will be given; to seek, and we will find; and to knock, and the door will be opened. If you seek Him with all your heart, soul, and mind, He will meet you.
But following Christ also requires repentance and obedience.
What Does It Mean to Repent?
Iām glad you asked. š
To repent means to turn away from sin and decide to live differently...to live in a way that honors God. It is more than simply saying, āIām sorry.ā Repentance means changing direction and surrendering your life to the Lord.
Righteous means being morally right, honest, fair, and justified.
Holy means being set apart for God, sacred and devoted to Him.
Let's discuss "perfection", because most of us when we think we need to be perfect it appears to be thing we can never accomplish on our own... which is true!
We are called to be perfect according to Godās definition of perfection which means, to be complete in Him. Jesus transforms us as we obey the Holy Spirit, who lives within us and teaches, leads, guides, perfects us and comforts us. Jesus perfected us on the cross when he took on ALL of our sins - past, present, and future and presented us to be holy and blameless, without blemish before God. That's LOVE!!!
When you turn away from sin, temptation will still come.
Letās be honest.....most of us fall short every day. But the key is getting back up, repenting, trusting God, and continuing the journey.
The more you choose God, the more you may notice that the strongholds the enemy once had on your life begin to loosen. Over time, those things can lose their grip because you are growing in Godās Word and allowing the Lord to cultivate you through His Spirit.

Are the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit the Same?
The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are one....yet each is distinct. This is known as the Holy Trinity.
God the Father is the covenant keeper and loving Father.
Jesus the Son is our Savior, Lord, and Redeemer.
The Holy Spirit is our Comforter, Helper, Teacher, and Guide.
The Holy Spirit helps reveal Godās will for our lives. He can bring direction, conviction, purpose, and truth...but we must be willing to listen and surrender.
You do not have to have every answer before coming to God. Start by praying honestly. Open your Bible. Ask Him to reveal Himself to you. Seek Him with your whole heart.
He is closer than you think.
I recommend starting in the Gospel of Matthew, follow-up with the book of Genesis.
Take notes and write down questions you want the Holy Spirit to reveal to you while you're growing. Remember this journey is a process and as long as you are breathing, God has purpose for your life.
