Revealing Distractions

The enemy is crafty, his goal is to steal, kill, and destroy. That’s biblical truth.
When we decide to turn away from our sinful nature and pursue Christ, the enemy becomes threatened. He doesn’t want transformation; he wants us bound. His aim is to keep us in sin and separated from God, because sin creates distance between us and our Heavenly Father.
Satan already knows his end.He will not inherit the Kingdom, he will be cast into the lake of fire, and his desire is to take as many people with him as possible.
We must also face the truth that, at times, we have come into agreement with things that are not of God, demonic influences that may still be affecting areas of our lives. Whether it’s cursing, lust, pornography, sexual immorality, or other sinful behaviors, these things carry real spiritual consequences, impacting both our minds and our bodies. But when we renounce and denounce them, we break that agreement.
Scripture reminds us:
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control”
Galatians 5:22-23
Anything outside of that is not of God.
When you find yourself easily distracted in church, especially when the atmosphere is loud and people are being led by the Spirit. it’s important to pause and check your focus. Instead of receiving the Word, you may notice yourself becoming uncomfortable, looking around, or even judging what’s taking place. In those moments, it can be more than just a natural reaction; it may be spiritual resistance trying to keep you from drawing closer to Christ.
Remember, the enemy does not want you saved, growing, or transformed. He will use distraction, whatever form it takes, to pull your attention away from Christ and from what God is trying to do in you.
This is why it’s so important to learn how to identify these tactics. Anything that pulls you away from God’s will needs to be addressed. Come out of agreement with it, repent, and invite the Lord to take His rightful place in your life.
Ask God to direct your path and continue molding you into who He created you to be, not who you became through navigating this world on your own terms. Stay in the Word. Be intentional about seeking His presence. And make the daily decision to remove distractions so you can grow deeper in Him.
This message is not meant to bring shame, guilt, or condemnation. It’s meant to bring transformation. It’s an invitation to pause, reflect, and evaluate areas of your life that may need realignment.
Take time to step back and seek God through His Word, learning not only who you are, but whose you are.

— The Surrendered Walk

We can be distracted and lose ourselves when we don’t have the right tools to stay focused on God. A lot of distractions starts internal; worrying, stressing, talking negatively, thinking negatively, to name a few. We have to find a way through prayer and fasting to stay focused.
Thank you for this ❤️
