I am coming out of 1 Kings 19 where Prophet Elijah just killed all the false prophets and Ahab went home and snitched on him to Jezebel and she threatened to kill him so he ran into the wilderness and fell asleep under a tree.

1 Kings 19: 5-8 (NLT) 5 Then he lay down and slept under the broom tree. But as he was sleeping, an angel touched him and told him, “Get up and eat! ” 6 He looked around and there beside his head was some bread baked on hot stones and a jar of water! So he ate and drank and lay down again.
Let me pause right here…
See this is where I got convicted and we are family so allow me to pass it on to you as well because see I wanted my title to be “Wake Up” but there was no version of the bible that said “wake up” they either said “Get Up” or King James Version said “Arise” and I’m like well Lord why it couldn’t say “wake up” and Holy Spirit said because too many times we wake up but don’t get up, wake up but then fall back to sleep, wake up and start doom scrolling on social media besides scrolling through the Bible and oftentimes tell the truth—when we do read the bible laying down we do what? GO TO SLEEP, which is exactly what Prophet Elijah did he woke up, ate, and went back to sleep, oh but follow me to verses 7-8.

Then the angel of the LORD came again and touched him and said, “Get up and eat some more, OR the journey ahead will be too much for you. ” (I need you to pocket that verse because see that’s the warning; and warning comes before destruction).
8 So he got up (obedience) and ate and drank, and the food gave him enough strength to travel forty days and forty nights to Mount Sinai, the mountain of God.

Many of us started off strong carrying our mantle just like Elijah and the many assignments he fulfilled before his fear of Jezebel, somewhere along the way we got discouraged, the weight got too heavy it was too overwhelming too many people started leaving and God started revealing things that just seemed too much to handle.
Kind of like Isaiah 40 we soared like eagles, then ran, then walked and although the scripture advises us to keep moving, we stopped and found ourselves in the wilderness (which represents your environment but not physically; mentally) under the tree (which represents covenant), but you are sleep like Elijah you have found yourself running away from your mantle and sleeping on your gifts it's time to GET UP!

Let me help you with something 1 Corinthians 12: 4-6 ESV
“There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but they are all from the same Spirit. 5 There are different ways to serve, but we serve the same Lord. 6 And there are different ways that God works in all of us to do everything.

Well Sis what are you saying? I am here to tell you again that it is time to GET UP.
Get up and eat,
Get up and fast (and allow me to sit here for a second because fasting does not always mean from food, fasting can be from social media, fasting can be from people or environments that are not of God, we fast from anything and everything that is exalting itself above God, fasting is denying of what the flesh desires. The more we deny our flesh the more Spirit-led we become.
Okay going back now; get up and ignite your prayer life,
Get up and get into the word
Get up and get into God’s presence
OR the journey ahead will be too much.
Pay close attention to the verbiage “GET UP AND”, meaning don’t just get up, then go back to sleep.
NO we must get up and BE ye transformed by the renewing of our minds. Elijah was ready to die in the wilderness, he prayed and asked God to take his life in verse 4 for he did not feel worthy enough to continue, he lacked faith in his purpose, his calling, his assignment.
This is why it is important to feed our faith! Why?

Lack of Faith comes from lack of sustenance where do you find the sustenance to feed your faith the word of God because faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God. We cannot rely on hearing the word of God in Sunday services and Bible Studies then, expect our faith to rise to the occasion of carrying our purpose, fulfilling this assignment, in alignment with God’s will for our lives. Scripture reminds us in Hebrews 4: 12-13 (NLT) 12 For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. 13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable. For He is the Great I am, strong and mighty, and He is the same God that provided for Prophet Elijah equipping him for the journey ahead and He is YET and STILL the same God who is providing all of our needs according to His riches in glory. Hallelujah!!

I want you to take this as encouragement allow it to push you fully into your God-given purpose, but most importantly I want you take this as warning to get up before it is too late.
