Sisterhood in Christ: More Than a Gathering

“How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!” — Psalm 133:1

This past week, a group of women from different backgrounds, different generations, and different life experiences gathered together for one purpose: to seek the Lord through the book of Ezekiel.

What took place was more than a Bible study.

It was a reminder of what true sisterhood in Christ looks like.

In a world that often encourages competition, comparison, jealousy, and division among women, God’s design is completely different. Scripture teaches us that we are called to encourage one another, sharpen one another, pray for one another, and carry one another’s burdens.

Sisterhood in Christ is not about finding women who think exactly like us, look like us, or come from the same place we do. It is about being united by the blood of Jesus Christ.

As we journeyed through Ezekiel together, we discussed God’s judgment, His holiness, His mercy, and His promise of restoration. We talked about dry bones coming back to life. We examined the idols that can quietly take God’s place in our hearts. We reflected on surrender, obedience, and what it means to guard the presence of God in our lives.

Yet some of the most powerful moments happened between the lessons.

Women prayed over one another.

Testimonies were shared.

Tears were shed.

Walls came down.

Masks were removed.

And God met us there.

Healing took place.

Deliverance took place.

Restoration began to take root.

There is something powerful about being surrounded by women who are willing to be honest before God and one another. Not women pretending to have it all together, but women willing to say, “Lord, I need You.”

Throughout Scripture, we see the beauty of godly relationships among believers. We were never intended to walk this journey alone. The enemy thrives in isolation, but God often brings healing through community.

When one woman shares her testimony, another woman realizes she is not alone.

When one woman prays, another receives strength.

When one woman stands firm in faith, another is encouraged to keep going.

That is the beauty of sisterhood through Christ Jesus.

The gathering reminded me that revival is not always loud. Sometimes revival looks like women sitting around a table with open Bibles, open hearts, and a willingness to let God do surgery on their souls.

The Lord reminded us through Ezekiel that He is still in the business of breathing life into dead places.

Dead dreams.

Broken relationships.

Wounded hearts.

Dry faith.

Forgotten purpose.

Nothing is beyond His reach.

As we left our time together, I believe each woman walked away with something different, yet all of us walked away with the same truth:

God is restoring His people.

To every woman reading this, know that you were never meant to walk alone. Seek godly community. Find sisters who will point you back to Christ when life becomes difficult. Find women who will celebrate your victories, pray through your struggles, and lovingly tell you the truth when you need to hear it.

Sisterhood is not about perfection.

It is about pursuing Jesus together.

Closing Prayer

Father, thank You for the gift of godly sisterhood. Thank You for the women You place in our lives to encourage, challenge, and strengthen us in our walk with You. Help us to walk in unity, humility, and love. Let us be women who point one another toward Christ and not toward ourselves. Continue the healing, deliverance, and restoration You began among us. May we leave every gathering more surrendered to You than when we arrived. In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
