More Than a Blog: A Personal Conviction

As I sit and create these blog entries, the Holy Spirit has truly been dealing with me.

This isn’t just for God’s people; this is for me too.

As I type, as I journal, as I put these titles together and read through everything, it’s hitting me deeply. This is accountability at its finest. Sitting here, listening to the Holy Spirit guide me, what to say, what to write, what to release, and even reminding me not to worry about repeating certain things.

Because some things need to be repeated.

Some truths need to sit, to marinate in the spirit, so that hearts can truly receive them and turn back to God.

And in the middle of all of this, God is holding me accountable.

I have to walk upright.

I have to check myself daily.

I have to carry my cross daily.

I have to die to myself daily.

Even when I don’t feel like it.

Even when my flesh wants control.

I have to get in the Word.

I have to pray.

I have to examine my heart.

And not through the lens of people, but through the lens of God.

Because how can I tell others to live a certain way if I’m not allowing God to correct me in those same areas?

There are places in my life that God is still refining. There are areas He is calling me to clean up, not out of punishment, but because He wants to use me. And I understand that I cannot pour into others from a place that I refuse to surrender myself.

God is saying, “Let Me deal with you first.”

Before I go out and tell others to get it right, I must allow Him to get me right.

This process is humbling.

It’s stretching.

It’s convicting.

But it’s necessary.

Because this… this is more than a blog to me.

This is obedience.

This is refinement.

This is surrender in real time.

And I’m choosing to say yes, even when it’s uncomfortable.

This is a beautiful reminder that we must surrender everything to Christ Jesus daily, and be made and molded into what he is calling us to be in him.

"Surrender equals humbling ourselves and allowing God to get us right so we can pour into others." No truer reminder that our surrender has purpose.
